Need we say anymore but that statement?
It says a lot about Telstra’s actions with regard to competition.
Everything from pricing retail lower than wholesale through to the current mash up we have now are all a direct result of Telstra’s complete dislike of competition.
Competition means they have to compete, they have to work for the customers, [...]

Here’s a reply to Christopher, who completely ignored the issue of the profits Telstra Wholesale makes in response to his argument that Telstra’s competitors are getting access below cost.
He didn’t really have an answer for the profits they make, and decided to raise the old “level playing field by no regulations argument”.. Completely misleading [...]

Christopher replied to an earlier post by me with more lies:
Jason…let me put it this way. Say if you and some friends (sharholders)owned a number of houses to rent and of course in competition with other owners etc. Would you accept a rental return as dictated by a 3rd party, say a Real Estate governing [...]

Sydney wrote this bit of misinformation on the NWAT site:
Jason…your views are well known but could you please answer one question. Why should Telstra be expected to sacrifice itself to help opponents in a society where Government promotes free enterprise competition?
Sydney,
Telstra aren’t sacrificing itself.
It’s making just as much profit as it’d be making on [...]

Christopher replied to my recent post on NWAT with:
Jason. The 20 million consumers?. They consume, they have choice of what to consume. Business profits and shareholders share. Just as in any other business and industry. Tha’s what happens.
Christopher.
Phone services are considered an essential utility.
That is why they are regulated.
Telstra is pushing to remove regulations which [...]

Colin posted this on NWAT:
Jason Torrento, are you yet to understand that the reason the other payers can and do undercut Telstra is because they get a discounted ride via the ACCC ULL or SSS pricing? Why is it everyone else can do the maths and get the picture, but you put it down to [...]

Vasso, a NWAT regular misinformation distributor had this posted on NWAT:
Jason, Is that what you call it….. ‘Competition’ and I thought that in order to compete one needs to develop an array of choices to gain customers not piggyback the network at discounted below cost charge out rates. If we had true competition, our Telecommunications [...]

Pat Sculli had posted this bit of misinformed content:
Can anyone explain to me why Telstra is the only company in this country so heavily regulated.. If it was BHP in the same boat they would be screaming “blue murder” and the Minister would have been out of a job long ago..The sooner that Helen Coonan [...]

Vasso, a Telstra Shareholder and regular on the Now We Are Talking Discussion Forums, had exactly this to say:
Geoff Archer, Your post which eloquently depicts, in a nut shell, the mischievousness of the Minister’s department. Deserves an award by Telstra. It is rather sad that a Federal Minister can be allowed to harbour such antipathy [...]

Vasso (a NWAT shareholder and regular misinformation courier on the NWAT forums) replied to my recent comment on the Telstra forums.
I wrote back clarifing further!
Vasso, I’m not dreaming, there was an actual article in several online news sources which quoted the government for seeking to reduce its conflict of interest (see: http://www.treasurer.gov.au/tsr/content/transcripts/2006/128.asp).
Vasso, I don’t need [...]

Reply to Vasso, in relation to a few comments, one of which claims I am a member of the “Anti Telstra Brigade”.
Being Pro consumer, and Pro competition, is obviously not something a Telstra supporter is capable of identifying. If you support competition, and support consumers rights to choice, you are “anti Telstra”, by that same [...]

Reading through the ‘Telstra Forum’ on Telstra’s Now We Are Talking website, it’s very clear that many are expressing their complete dislike of Telstra’s management and current actions.
Telstra recently put up a survey for shareholders to answer questions about Telstra and it’s situation. The survey is located here: https://survey.globalreviews.com/telstra/ and asks questions to the respondent, [...]

Rhonda, you wrote: “The alternative is to let Deutsche Telekom, or some other foreign carrier, do the job for us.”
I say, let’s let the foreign carriers do it. Telstra’s had the chance, and the chance again, and again, and again, and again, and again.
Each time Telstra have blown the [...]

John.
You and your fellow shareholders weren’t cheated.
It was public knowledge at the time of the T3 sale that the government planned to sell off Telstra so it could remove its conflict of interest in being both the regulator and owner.
The government didn’t choose to follow the likes of countries which own the telecommunications network, and [...]

A new reply to NWAT:
Brian,
OPEL’s rollout was initialling the $600 million.
It was decided after awarding to OPEL that they could do more if they got more money, so they kicked in $300+ million more, to expand the deployment to more people.
This has nothing to do with Pro or Anti anything.
It’s all about facts, the facts [...]

My next post on NWAT:
James Bell has mentioned a lot of what I was going to say.
The points that Telstra don’t seem to get are:
- Legal action. It’s a tool to be used when someone has done wrong by you. No one has done anything, and as your own documents state, it was designed to [...]

Telstra was apparently made aware that they had lost the tender many weeks before the winner was announced.
A government insider apparently tipped Telstra off about the tender being lost and they were then already sending the case to the Telstra legal team to determine if they were able to invalidate the tender.
As I already stated [...]

At a consumer level, there’s little in the way of pricing structure of a service.
Recently on Telstra’s Now We Are Talking site, Leanne made comments that iiNet get her service for $3.20 and charge her $xx.xx for it.
This would be completely incorrect, as the true costs of supplying a service reach far beyond $3.20.
